Graphic: Summer Deep Dive Sliding Scale Rates. Based on your answer to the questions cover a portion of cost, half of cost, full cost, or redistribution (provide a scholarship).

Fee Options:

We ask that you pay according to the individual and organizational access to money that comes with the intersections of your identity (these include income level, wealth, race, education, organizational support, gender identity, etc). Our sliding scale is an intentional effort to ensure our programs are financially accessible and sustainable. When you are able to pay more, it subsidizes the registration fees for others with more limited financial means.

We invite you to think honestly and bravely about your financial access, which we acknowledge is complicated. This short questionnaire will help determine what rate to select on the scale*:

  1. Do you have access to organizational support that can cover some of the costs?
  2. Are you and your family homeowners or landowners?
  3. Have you or your family paid for you to attend school (for example, private school or higher education)?
  4. Are your bills or credit cards on autopay?
  5. Can you afford to pay all your bills (including car and good health insurance) and put food on the table without any financial strain?
  6. Do you have a savings account, investments, or a retirement account?
  7. Do you have a safety net composed of “financially stable” or wealthy family and friends?
  8. Do you have U.S. Citizenship?
  9. Does your income only support you, and not other loved ones?
  10. Have you or do you expect to inherit money or property?
  11. Do you have a college degree (associate, bachelor's, master's, or doctoral)?

*this questionnaire is borrowed and inspired by Anti-Oppression Resource and Training Alliance (AORTA)

Based on your reflections, please choose a sliding scale option below.

  • If you answered almost all no, choose $250 (supports a portion of our costs)
  • If you answered more no than yes, choose $600 (supports half the costs)
  • If you answered more yes than no, choose $1000 (supports the full cost)
  • If you answered almost all yes, choose $1300 (supports your attendance and contributes to the community scholarship fund)

If all of these options are financially prohibitive, please email us at info@makered.org to discuss alternative payment options, as no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

If you need to pay by invoice or purchase order please select “pay later” during the registration process and someone from our team will reach out to you to coordinate payment.
